Celesio UK signs exclusive distribution deal with Ipsen Ltd
Following an extensive review of its supply chain arrangements, Ipsen Ltd – a specialty pharmaceutical company focusing on three key areas of neurology, endocrinology and uro-oncology – has appointed AAH Pharmaceuticals Ltd, part of Celesio UK, as its solus DTP or Agency distribution partner for all dispensing points in the UK with effect from 3 February 2014.
AAH Pharmaceuticals will also be one of two chosen distributors of Decepeptyl specifically within the doctors channel.
This follows the recent announcement from AAH of a solus distribution arrangement covering all products from Ferring from 1 January 2014.
Commenting on the Ipsen announcement Cormac Tobin, Managing Director of Celesio UK and AAH said, “At Celesio UK we believe in driving an agenda to develop healthcare services for the future, it’s our objective to do these through our Reinventing Health strategy.
“Celesio UK being selected by Ipsen recognises our commitment to operational excellence in distributing high value speciality products, as well as our desire to provide wider healthcare services through the pharmacy channel. It’s all part of our continuing drive to be as easy to do business with as possible for all our customers, recognising what is important to them.
“I am particularly delighted to say that from February, AAH will be able to offer our dispensing customers an improved service for Ipsen products with twice daily deliveries and an 8pm order cut-off time. This is a significant improvement on the current next day terms for Ipsen direct deliveries. In addition same day delivery is available if customers order in the morning.”
Ben Rostron, Commercial Effectiveness Manager at Ipsen said “By partnering with AAH Pharmaceuticals, part of the Celesio Group, Ipsen will not only benefit from industry leading service and infrastructure, but also Celesio’s wider capabilities and innovative dispensing models.”
Cormac of Celesio UK went on to say “Opening an account and trading with AAH is very simple: customers can visit www.aah.co.uk/newaccount to download a community pharmacy, GP or hospital new account pack. Doing so now will give peace of mind that they are ready for the switchover and ensure continuity of supply of Ipsen products.
“If customers would like to understand more about how AAH can support them they can call the AAH New Accounts Team on 0844 561 2008.
“All of our customers can expect to receive a reliable and efficient service which will impress them, but we will do more than that: we are going to give them compelling reasons to want to do business with us, so until the end of March, AAH is dropping surcharges for new customers to give them the opportunity to try out all of our products and services.
“We are committed to helping every single one of our customers grow their business through competitive commercial terms and unrivalled service, helping them gain income and customer loyalty by providing patient services and sharing with them retail models which will deliver profit to the bottom line”.
