AAH and NHS partner for Stoptober

AAH Pharmaceuticals has teamed up with the NHS to support this year’s Stoptober campaign.

All 1,200 of the company’s All About Health members will receive a free ‘toolkit’ to help them deliver the programme and engage with customers. This includes A4 posters, A5 window clings, leaflets, a leaflet dispenser and staff badges.

Pharmacists and their staff will be encouraged to promote the programme and to urge quitters to access free online support.

Stephen Spillett, channel marketing manager for All About Health, said: “It’s great to be able to partner with the NHS on this campaign and to support our customers in delivering free and accessible healthcare.

“For the patient there is a free 28-day smartphone app with daily updates and support from well-known organisations, sports clubs and celebs in addition to peer support from fellow quitters via social media.

“And for the pharmacy it offers the chance for increased footfall and excellent cross-selling opportunities for NRT products.”

Last year some 270,000 people signed up to Stoptober while All About Health alone has been supporting pharmacists with smoking cessation programmes, particularly around awareness days.

Ryan Govey, 18, gave up smoking in January of this year with the advice and support of All About health member, Village Pharmacy, Essex. “I started smoking when I was 15 and before I knew it I was smoking 25 cigarettes a day so decided to quit to lead a healthier lifestyle,” he said.

“If it wasn’t for the advice and support of the pharmacy I’d still be smoking now and doing serious damage to my health.”
